Oura is seeking a Machine Learning Data Scientist to join their Women’s Health team, focusing on developing and commercializing machine learning models and algorithms that utilize wearable health data to enhance women's health outcomes.
This position is remote within the US, with a preference for candidates based in San Francisco, CA, and offers hybrid or office settings in San Francisco and San Diego, as well as employee hubs in various cities.
The role involves building and deploying machine learning pipelines and models for Women’s Health features.
The candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional team, including scientists, product managers, software developers, product designers, and test engineers, to commercialize new features that provide value to members.
Responsibilities include delivering robust statistical analyses of machine learning models for performance evaluation and insights to support product decisions.
The role also entails conducting exploratory research to identify new health sensing features and developing proof-of-concept features for commercialization.
Requirements:
A PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, biostatistics, computer science, or a related field, or a Master’s degree in related fields with at least 3 years of relevant work experience is required. Experience in healthcare or health tech is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of solid programming skills in Python and SQL is necessary.
The candidate must have experience with various machine learning and statistical modeling approaches.
A strong understanding of probability and statistics is essential.
Experience in developing and validating time-series algorithms is required.
The candidate should be self-driven, motivated, and possess a pragmatic can-do attitude with a delivery-focused mindset.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to summarize and articulate work and thought processes to both technical and non-technical team members.
The candidate must be comfortable working with a diverse team globally and be able to accommodate weekly off-hour meetings with European colleagues, as well as travel for onsite meetings up to 3 times per year.
