Valence has created the first AI native coaching platform for enterprises, providing personalized guidance and support to leaders and employees.
The Machine Learning Engineer will report to the Head of AI and focus on implementing and optimizing machine learning models for a conversational AI coaching product aimed at Fortune 500 companies.
Responsibilities include developing scalable data pipelines, optimizing models for performance and accuracy, and ensuring they are production-ready.
The role involves improving user experience in conversational interactions using LLMs, analyzing user behavior with the product team, and conducting statistical analyses to enhance the end user experience.
The engineer will engage in research and development of new Conversational AI approaches, document models and processes, and stay updated with the latest advancements in ML and Conversational AI.
Support for coding and feature development will also be required.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates should have 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering or AI/ML development, ideally with a Master's or Ph.D. in a related field.
Practical experience and theoretical knowledge of language technologies such as dialogue systems, NLP, and Information Retrieval are necessary.
A strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles is essential.
Proficiency in Python and relevant deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow, JAX) is required, along with experience in LLM model development and deployment.
Familiarity with cloud deployment of ML systems (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and open systems (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is needed.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in structuring and running data-backed experiments, are important.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Exposure to early-stage startups, preferably in B2B SaaS, is a plus.
