Remote Mainframe MVS Software Engineer

Description:

• We are currently looking for a Mainframe Software Engineer to join one of our PartnerOne Companies.
• The role involves managing the client relationship for support-type interactions on our Editique software offering.
• The engineer will provide Level 1, 2, and 3 support on software solutions running on the IBM z/OS (MVS) Mainframe environment at client sites.
• Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving technical and application issues reported by clients.
• The engineer will fix issues in relevant modules such as Cobol, JCL, TSO/ISPF to deliver patches.
• Collaboration with internal development teams, solution experts, and client operations teams is essential.
• The engineer will define and execute non-regression test cases.
• Delivering patches and assisting clients with implementation is part of the role.
• Writing and maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures is required.
• The engineer will contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes.
• Additionally, the role includes providing Level 1 and 2 support on new software solutions, including Windows client and servers, or Kubernetes/Linux.
• Participation in document model design projects with the Services teams using the new software offering is expected.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in the IBM z/OS (MVS) Mainframe environment is required.
• Proficiency in JCL and COBOL languages is necessary.
• Knowledge of VSAM file management is essential.
• Operational or technical knowledge in the field of Editique is an asset, including print and envelope insertion workshops and AFP print format.
• Experience with ticketing and collaborative work tools, such as Zoho Desk and MS SharePoint, is required.
• Expertise in MS Word is considered a plus.
• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role is required.
