The ML Scientist - Foundation Model will join a core team dedicated to building and scaling foundation models across various modalities.
Responsibilities include training large multimodal models, fine-tuning checkpoints for domain-specific tasks, and managing the full lifecycle of model development, including data pipeline design, training infrastructure, evaluation, optimization, and deployment.
The role is suited for individuals who excel at the intersection of model research and production implementation and are eager to contribute to scalable AI systems.
The position involves close collaboration with engineering and research teams to optimize models, develop evaluation pipelines, and enhance task-specific model performance.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
Proficiency in Python programming is necessary.
Experience in neural network model development, including building or fine-tuning large models such as recommendation systems, is essential.
Candidates must have skills in model performance profiling and optimization.
Experience in developing scalable ML evaluation pipelines is required.
Knowledge of multimodal model training and data pipeline development is necessary.
Familiarity with task-specific fine-tuning and distillation methods is expected.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Transformer, Diffusion, Graph, Contrastive, or Genetic models, ML platform engineering at scale (preferably on GCP), evaluation framework design, and working in production environments with distributed training or inference.
