Responsibilities include administering and supporting MySQL databases across development, test, and production environments.
The administrator will optimize SQL queries and database performance for high-volume systems.
The role involves configuring, monitoring, and maintaining MySQL replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
Collaboration with engineering and DevOps teams to maintain cloud-native database systems, especially on AWS, is required.
The administrator will troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks and data integrity problems.
Responsibilities also include performing backups, restoration, and disaster recovery planning.
Monitoring database health and operational metrics is essential.
The role requires supporting version upgrades and ensuring system compatibility.
Contributing to database security, compliance, and process improvements is expected.
The administrator will provide technical guidance to peers and promote best practices within the team.

Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
A minimum of 6 years of experience in managing MySQL databases in large-scale environments is necessary.
Proficiency in MySQL sharding architecture and clustering techniques is essential.
Hands-on experience with HAProxy, ProxySQL, or MaxScale is required.
Familiarity with AWS database services such as Aurora and RDS is necessary.
Strong Linux/Unix administration skills are required.
Experience with disaster recovery, data replication, and performance tuning is essential.
MS SQL experience is a plus.
Experience with SaaS or cloud-based infrastructure is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
A proven ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
