Brightspeed is searching for an Outside Plant Network Engineer to join their team.
The role involves designing and preparing engineering work orders for various projects including land developments, new buildings, and special circuit requests.
The engineer will utilize tools such as NDS, AutoCAD, Fireworks/Bid master, JDS, FORTE, WFMT, ARMOR, TIRKS, LFACS, and the full suite of Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities include developing plans for new plant construction, preparing plans and specifications, providing cost data for capital planning, monitoring project expenditure, overseeing installation and testing of plant facilities, and analyzing network systems.
The engineer will also resolve interoperability problems and support the acquisition and implementation of hardware and software.
Requirements:
An Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience is required.
A minimum of 8 years of related experience in telecommunications, engineering, or network planning is necessary.
Candidates should be knowledgeable and skilled in planning and/or engineering.
Proficiency in appropriate systems and Microsoft Office is required.
The ability to work with Planning, Operations, and all internal and external customers while maintaining budgets is essential.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary for this position.
