  • The position is for a C++ Networking Engineer at Atomic Theory, part of the Rocket Science Group.
  • This role is currently fully remote but will transition to a hybrid model, requiring 3 days onsite in Brighton each week.
  • The team consists of experienced AAA veterans from companies like Blizzard, PUBG, Epic, and Unity, focused on delivering high-quality gaming experiences.
  • The engineer will design, implement, augment, and optimize network features and systems for a proprietary AAA game engine.
  • A primary focus will be on developing and maintaining multiplayer server architecture, especially for listen mode game servers.
  • The role requires ensuring efficient and reliable networking technology to enhance player experiences and demands thoroughness in development.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in C++ and strong math skills, with experience in networking or game development.
  • Strong experience with multiplayer network architecture, particularly with listen mode game servers.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain robust, high-performance networking systems within game environments.
  • A genuine passion for video games and a desire to create engaging experiences for players.
  • Eagerness to learn about other technologies and practices to remain current and versatile.
  • Experience with proprietary AAA game engines and developing for current-generation consoles is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating on large projects and working with internal and external stakeholders for feedback and support is also beneficial.
