The role of Network Engineer reports to the Network Operations Engineering Manager and involves network operations, maintenance, and providing level 3 support for customer services.
The successful applicant will collaborate with engineering teams to build and maintain a scalable, reliable, and resilient network, focusing on automation and customer service.
Responsibilities include supporting capacity management, network risk management, participating in network procurement, leading network redesign initiatives, managing network projects, and providing performance reporting.
The role also involves training and mentoring Operations Engineers, resolving major network incidents, documenting work, maintaining vendor relationships, and collaborating on network enhancements.
Requirements:

Proven experience in network incident resolution, deployment, and maintenance is required.
Production experience with IS-IS, BGP, MPLS Traffic Engineering, and MPLS Layer 2/3 VPNs is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Juniper and Cisco hardware platforms is required.
Experience with the Opengear platform for out-of-band management is preferred.
Candidates should have experience managing network hardware installations and single-mode fibre patching in data centres.
Familiarity with Linux and scripting in Perl or Python is highly regarded.
Candidates must be proactive, self-motivated, and highly organized with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in dynamic environments and autonomously as part of a remote team is essential.
