Substance is searching for a dedicated and knowledgeable Network Security Engineer to join our client's team to protect their IT infrastructure against cyber threats.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network security solutions that safeguard the organization’s sensitive information.
You will collaborate with various teams to develop effective security policies and protocols, ensuring that the network environment remains secure and compliant with industry standards.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
You will monitor network traffic and respond to security incidents and breaches in a timely manner.
Conducting regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and mitigate risks is also part of your role.
You will develop and maintain security policies and best practices to align with compliance requirements.
Collaborating with IT teams to ensure proper configuration and hardening of network devices and systems is essential.
Researching emerging security threats and recommending enhancements to the security posture will be part of your duties.
You will provide technical guidance and support for security incidents and response efforts.
Conducting training and awareness sessions for staff on best practices in network security is expected.
Assisting in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to network security is also a responsibility.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required.
Proven experience in network security engineering with a strong understanding of network protocols is necessary.
Expertise in security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and DLP systems is essential.
Hands-on experience with network monitoring and security management tools is required.
Strong knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS) is necessary.
Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, or CISM are preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail are required.
The ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment is essential.
Strong communication skills to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders are necessary.
