The Network Pre-Sales Systems Engineer will report to the Regional Engineering Manager and work alongside skilled field engineers.
This role involves providing pre-sales technical systems engineering support for Service Provider customers.
Responsibilities include conducting network architectural reviews, product presentations, and designing high-performance Data Center and Service Provider solutions.
The engineer will perform hands-on tests, create design guidelines, respond to RFP/RFQs, and provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
The position also requires representing Arista at industry events and authoring white papers on technology and products.
Requirements:
A BS/CS/CE technical degree is required for this position.
Network Industry Certification is preferred, such as CCIE (R&S), JNCIE, or ACE-3,4,5,6,7.
A minimum of 7+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience is required, focusing on high-performance Service Provider networks and Data Centers.
Expert-level experience with routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols, is necessary.
Recent experience in Leaf-Spine architecture design is required.
Previous experience designing, deploying, and configuring large-scale MPLS-based networks is preferred.
Demonstrated work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Architect is preferred.
Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, MPLS, Multicast, Spanning Tree, and QoS is required.
A good understanding of the competitor technology landscape, particularly Cisco and Juniper, is necessary.
Expert-level knowledge of industry-standard CLI is required.
Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is highly desired.
Proficiency in Python, Ansible, and other automation tools, with prior experience building network automation solutions, is required.
Knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services is necessary.
The ability to write white papers is a plus.

The base pay for this role ranges from $110,000 to $185,000, depending on skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location.
