The Platform Engineer will be part of Civica’s Field Engineering team, enabling product development teams to adopt and thrive on the internal developer platform.
Responsibilities include consulting product engineers and managers, collaborating with platform engineering teams, improving older tech stacks, and acting as a subject matter expert.
The role requires a blend of engineering expertise, communication, and collaboration to empower teams to deliver value to citizens effectively.

Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues are a must.
Experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, K8s Operators, Docker, CI/CD, scripting and automation, Linux administration, monitoring, networking, security, and DevOps concepts and practices is required.
Experience in migrating VM-based architectures to cloud-native environments, proficiency in at least one DevOps-friendly programming language (such as Python or Go), and familiarity with large-scale Platform as a Service is preferred.
