DoorDash is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, integrate, monitor, and evolve Global Safety and Security systems for over 300 locations worldwide.
This role involves owning the infrastructure, integrations, and observability layers critical to security technology operations.
The engineer will be hands-on with infrastructure and systems, driving automation, observability, and self-healing solutions to reduce friction across the enterprise.
Responsibilities include building and supporting safety and security platforms, extending platform observability, developing APIs, and using SQL for operational awareness.
The engineer will deploy infrastructure solutions to the cloud and on-prem environments, establish data pipelines, and champion security and compliance in engineering decisions.
The role requires translating complex technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders and creating automation systems for IoT devices.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 4 to 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or observability engineering, ideally in global, distributed environments.
Experience with Terraform and Ansible for IaaS and automated configuration deployments is required.
Proficiency in administering both Linux and Windows-based systems is necessary.
Expert-level knowledge of DevOps tools such as CD/CI, Jenkins, and Git is essential.
A deep understanding of observability frameworks, metrics collection, log aggregation, and incident automation is required.
Candidates must be fluent in SQL and data modeling, with the ability to use BI tools like Sigma or Looker.
Experience in building integrations using RESTful APIs and knowledge of networking concepts is necessary.
The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is required or must be obtained within twelve months of hire.
Familiarity with access control, video surveillance, and IoT technologies is a plus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work across time zones and teams are essential.
