The role of Platform Engineer involves building and operating the private cloud as part of the Infrastructure team.
Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and maintaining Kubernetes infrastructure on bare metal servers with a DevOps mindset.
The engineer will automate infrastructure provisioning using GitOps workflows and enable reliable deployments for engineering teams.
Monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the cloud to meet business requirements and SLAs is essential.
The role also includes implementing security best practices, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and mentoring other engineers.
Requirements:
Candidates should have more than 5 years of total experience, including at least 1 year managing Kubernetes infrastructure with IaaC tools like Ansible.
Proficiency in Linux and one or more scripting languages is required.
Knowledge of networks, particularly Kubernetes CNIs, is necessary.
A solid understanding of CI/CD principles and the GitOps approach is essential.
Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, or Thanos is required.
Strong teamwork skills, clear communication, flexibility, and openness to debate are important.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a distributed environment are necessary.
Fluency in English is required.
