The Platform Engineer will work with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to manage a distributed fleet of media players and smart speakers across North and Central America.
This role requires collaboration with the Dallas-based Support and Operations teams to provide technical expertise in the local timezone.
Responsibilities include improving the build and deployment process for software on RaspberryPi-based media players, investigating network issues, building management tools in Bash and Golang, refining observability pipelines, and addressing hardware and software issues.
The engineer will model good engineering practices and help refine Ops and Engineering processes and communication.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience in Software Engineering, Network Engineering, DevOps, or System Administration.
Previous work in or alongside Operations, DevOps, or Technical Support teams is required.
Technical fluency in Linux fundamentals, TCP/IP Networking fundamentals, command line diagnostics, and basic shell scripting with Bash is necessary.
Proficiency in Golang and/or Python, managing CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with AWS services is essential.
Experience with observability and monitoring tools is required, and candidates should have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and enterprise customers.
A high level of autonomy and self-reliance is necessary, along with full, unrestricted work rights for the United States.
Bonus points for experience in system administration or network engineering roles, networking vendor certifications, and a strong interest in music.
