JumpCloud is seeking an experienced engineer to join their Platform Engineering organization.
The role involves solving complex problems using the latest tools and technologies.
Responsibilities include defining and implementing routing, load balancing, and communication strategies in a distributed microservice-based containerized environment.
The engineer will implement best practices, canary rollouts, client-based routing, and fine-grained security control to deliver distributed applications at scale.
The position requires designing highly available systems, building tools, scaling the platform, and modernizing key components.
The platform components developed will serve as the foundation for JumpCloud and internal engineering teams.
Collaboration with other Cloud Engineering teams and engineering teams across the organization is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of professional programming experience, with a focus on Golang, Python, or NodeJS.
Professional experience in developing and deploying applications in a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Oracle, or Azure) with CI/CD pipelines is required.
Experience with service mesh technologies, such as Istio, is necessary.
Candidates should have experience working with highly available distributed systems.
Proficiency in using tools to monitor platform stability, availability, and performance (e.g., Datadog) is required.
Familiarity with infrastructure as code solutions, such as Terraform, is essential.
Knowledge of traffic engineering principles, practices, and standards is expected.
A passion for addressing complex engineering problems and challenges is important.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are required.
