Main responsibilities include assisting customers' DBA teams by gathering data, investigating issues, and providing detailed analyses through various communication methods.
For critical issues, the engineer will conduct screen-sharing sessions to help resolve problems quickly.
Additional tasks include authoring blog posts, answering forum questions, creating knowledge base articles, and hosting webinars.
This is a remote position, allowing candidates to work from anywhere with a stable internet connection.
Requirements:
Candidates must have good hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL and its provided tools and contribution modules.
A strong skill set in the PostgreSQL ecosystem of tools and technologies is required.
Knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning is essential.
Familiarity with backup solutions such as pg base backup, pgBackRest, and WAL-G, as well as Point-in-Time Recovery, is necessary.
Experience with high availability solutions, including replication and proxies, is required.
Exposure to zero-downtime procedures and a good understanding of monitoring requirements are important.
Demonstrable experience in administering Linux-based systems is needed.
Candidates should possess the ability to troubleshoot methodically and think creatively to resolve complex issues.
A self-taught attitude and enthusiasm for learning new technologies are essential.
Availability to travel for occasional team meetings, conferences, or customer visits is required.
Experience working with customers in English is necessary.
Knowledge of Kubernetes is highly desirable.
