We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI Developer to join our growing data team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in Power BI.
You will collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights from complex data sources.
Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining interactive Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
You will design and build data models for Power BI reports using Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create complex data transformations and calculations.
You will work with data from multiple sources (SQL databases, Excel, APIs, cloud services) and integrate them into Power BI for meaningful analysis.
You will optimize the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards for faster data processing and visualization.
You will provide support and training to business users in using Power BI effectively, ensuring they can access and analyze the reports independently.
You will work closely with business analysts, IT teams, and stakeholders to understand business needs, gather requirements, and deliver solutions that align with company goals.
You will ensure data quality, consistency, and security by adhering to best practices in data management and governance.
You will document Power BI solutions and processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in Power BI development or a similar role is required.
Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service for report creation, deployment, and management is essential.
Strong experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for building calculations and aggregations is necessary.
Experience with Power Query (M language) for data transformation is required.
A solid understanding of SQL and experience working with databases (SQL Server, Azure, etc.) is needed.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is important.
Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is a plus.
Experience with Power BI service features like Power BI Gateway, Power BI Apps, and Row-Level Security (RLS) is required.
Experience with integrating Power BI reports with other Microsoft tools such as Excel, SharePoint, and Teams is necessary.
Experience with other BI tools like Tableau, QlikView, or SAP BusinessObjects is a plus.
Knowledge of data visualization best practices and UX/UI principles is desirable.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
