The role of Pre-Sales Engineer requires deep expertise in cloud data warehousing, data engineering, and AI/ML.
This is a client-facing position where the engineer will collaborate with the sales team to present tailored solutions using platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
Responsibilities include designing scalable cloud data architectures, presenting product demonstrations, developing technical presentations, assisting with RFP/RFI responses, facilitating data strategy workshops, and building scopes of work for data projects.
The engineer will work closely with customers to understand their data engineering workflows and advise on optimal design and implementation of data pipelines and AI/ML integration.
The role involves acting as a trusted advisor to customers, developing ongoing relationships, and partnering with customer success teams for smooth implementation.
Collaboration with internal teams is essential for understanding product roadmaps and training internal sales teams on advancements in relevant technologies.
The engineer will also be responsible for building technical documentation and contributing to best practices and technical case studies.
Requirements:
Strong experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar solutions like Google BigQuery and AWS Redshift is required.
In-depth knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and big data processing frameworks is necessary.
Proven experience with AI/ML technologies, including model development and integration into data workflows, is essential.
Familiarity with data integration tools and real-time data processing is required.
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated data services is necessary.
Proven ability to engage with senior technical and business stakeholders, demonstrating technical expertise and business acumen is required.
Experience in sales engineering or a similar technical sales role in the data, cloud, or AI/ML domain is necessary.
Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a broad audience.
A strong customer-focused mindset with the ability to articulate the business value of technical solutions is essential.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud data architecture, data engineering, AI/ML, or sales engineering is necessary.
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and AI/ML tools is highly desirable.
Bonus skills include certifications in Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, familiarity with BI tools, experience in Agile development, and supply chain experience.
