Webflow is seeking a Principal Data Architect to design, evangelize, and lead the development of its enterprise data architecture.
This role will shape how data flows across Webflow, enabling scalable, secure, and governed access to high-quality data for analytics, decision-making, and AI/ML use cases.
The Principal Data Architect will collaborate with various teams including data and insights, product, engineering, business technology, finance, sales, marketing, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities include developing a long-term vision for Webflow’s enterprise data architecture, designing a unified semantic layer, defining standards for data modeling and governance, and leading architecture reviews.
The position is remote-first, available to candidates in the United States and parts of Canada, and is a full-time, permanent, exempt role.
The cash compensation is based on geographic location and experience, with specific ranges provided for different zones in the U.S. and Canada.
The role is eligible for participation in Webflow's company-wide bonus program based on performance.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics engineering, including at least 3 years in a lead or principal architect role.
A deep understanding of enterprise data modeling, semantic layers, and dimensional modeling practices is required.
Proficiency in data pipeline and modeling tools such as SQL, Python, and dbt, as well as modern cloud data platforms like Snowflake, is necessary.
Hands-on experience with knowledge graphs, metadata layers, and lineage tracking tools is essential.
Candidates should demonstrate a solid grasp of data governance, data catalogs, security, and compliance frameworks.
Strong stakeholder management skills are required, with the ability to communicate complex architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The ideal candidate should be energized by solving ambiguous and high-impact problems in a collaborative environment and be systems-oriented with a focus on long-term scalability and resiliency.
A willingness to stay curious and open to growth, particularly in emerging technologies like AI, is important.
