The company is looking for its first Principal Data Engineer to design, build, and own its data ecosystem from the ground up.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lay the foundation for the entire data strategy and influence how data is used to drive decisions across the company and build data-driven product capabilities.
The Principal Data Engineer will report directly to the VP of Engineering.
Responsibilities include architecting the data ecosystem, leading vendor selection, deploying and owning data ecosystem components, hands-on development, strategic collaboration with leadership, and identifying and unblocking data needs for engineering teams.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of architecting and building scalable data platforms.
The ideal candidate must be a vocal champion for the value of data and capable of building strong relationships of influence across the organization, especially with engineering teams.
Extensive experience in modern data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, data governance, security, analytics, and reporting is required.
The candidate should possess the ability and confidence to operate as a "team of one" during the early stages of the company's data journey, with a vision to grow and mentor a team in the future.
Benefits:
BlackCloak offers a competitive salary ranging from $190,000 to $215,000 a year, with final offer amounts determined by multiple factors including geographic location and candidate experience.
