The Principal Data Engineer will serve as the senior technical lead for the data engineering department.
This role involves partnering with the Director of Data Engineering to provide technical leadership and architectural direction.
The Principal Data Engineer will lead the transition to distributed computing using Databricks and will be the go-to expert regarding the data stack and environment.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing a distributed computing environment, managing data governance, and ensuring data quality and integrity.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in designing and architecting data systems, warehousing, and/or ML Ops platforms.
Proven experience in the design and architecture of large-scale data systems, including lakehouse and machine learning platforms, using modern cloud-based tools is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaboration with cross-functional and executive teams.
Candidates should have the ability to develop and implement data architecture roadmaps that align with business strategies.
Expertise in data architecture and design for both structured and unstructured data is necessary.
Fluency with modern cloud data stacks, SaaS solutions, and evolutionary architecture is required.
Candidates must have expertise in data management aspects such as data governance and metadata management.
Experience with real-time data streaming, data analytics, BI, data reporting, and data visualization is also required.
