  • We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist to help shape and activate innovative processes that redefine how we measure consumer shopping behavior.
  • As an individual contributor within the Consumer Data Science team, you will serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for our latest measurement innovation across Europe.
  • In this role, you will collaborate closely with both in-market and global teams to ensure the successful rollout, stability, and continuous quality of our product.
  • Your key responsibility will be to develop methodological frameworks for market-specific implementations, ensuring technical accuracy while driving scalable, reliable, and highly automated solutions, especially in the field of price estimation and imputation.

Requirements:

  • You must have a university degree (Master or higher) in Statistics, Mathematics, Socioeconomics, or other related fields.
  • You should have at least 3 or more years of experience in FMCG, Retail, Consumer Research, or any related industry.
  • Working knowledge of Python and ideally R is required, especially in the areas of data extraction, data cleaning, root cause analysis, and data visualization.
  • Knowledge of Databricks and PySpark is necessary.
  • Experience with SQL, working with queries, and large-scale databases is essential.
  • Preferably, you should have experience with building PowerBi reports, as well as with building Shiny Apps or corresponding interfaces in Python.
  • Strong data engineering and process optimization experience is required.
  • You must have a strong aptitude for data analysis with basic knowledge of statistics, including the ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret large data sources.
  • Basic knowledge of the European market is preferred, including a location close to our Lisbon office.
  • You should have knowledge of or interest in consumers and their behaviors, as well as any receipt collection methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, strong analytical thinking, and strong leadership skills are essential.
  • A positive Say-Do ratio and motivation to engage with the wider team are a must.
  • Strong time management and coordination skills are required.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to maintain an end-to-end overview, is necessary.
  • You should have the ability to navigate through crises and difficult interactions, along with problem-solving skills.
