Abacus Insights is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to join their team in the United States.
This role involves shaping the future of scalable, secure cloud infrastructure in the healthcare data space.
The position requires ensuring the platform's stability, performance, and compliance while acting as a strategic leader and hands-on contributor.
Responsibilities include architecting and maintaining secure, scalable, HIPAA- and HITRUST-compliant infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
The engineer will define best practices and lead the DevOps strategy for CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Building and managing containerized environments using Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, and self-hosted) is a key task.
The role involves developing Python-based scripts to automate testing, validation, and deployment workflows.
The engineer will drive the design and adoption of a custom cloud deployment platform to enable continuous delivery.
Implementing comprehensive monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk is required.
Collaboration with engineering, product, and security teams to deliver robust infrastructure solutions is essential.
The engineer will promote DevOps excellence across the organization through mentorship, guidance, and best practices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in software development or infrastructure engineering with a focus on architecture and system design.
Expertise in cloud platforms, especially AWS, is required; Azure experience is a plus.
Strong Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals are necessary.
Experience implementing CI/CD with tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or Travis is essential.
Proficiency in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes is required.
Advanced scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, and Terraform are necessary.
A deep understanding of application architecture, deployment workflows, and DevOps methodologies is required.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
Candidates should be detail-oriented with a proactive, team-first mindset and leadership capabilities.
