Datacom is seeking a Principal Engineer – Backend to lead the software development of their next generation SaaS Payroll Product, Datapay.
The role involves modernizing the customer experience while ensuring the reliability of the existing system.
The Principal Engineer will be responsible for all phases of user software development, including architecture, technical design, implementation, and customer engagement.
This position requires collaboration with the Product and Design team, Tech Leads/Architects, and Development teams to enhance the value delivery pipeline within an Agile framework.
Key responsibilities include leading development teams, designing and testing applications, making technology stack choices, mentoring developers, ensuring project budgets and timelines are met, overseeing software analysis and modification, and facilitating communication across teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must have several years of experience in senior or principal level technical roles.
Strong proficiency in C#/.Net and TypeScript is required, along with experience in public and hybrid cloud platforms.
Experience with software development patterns such as CQRS, Event Sourcing, Domain Driven Design, Service Oriented Architectures, and Hexagonal/Onion/Clean architecture is essential.
A strong knowledge of systems integration using APIs, REST, and web services is necessary.
Familiarity with emerging workflows in AI is preferred.
Candidates should possess problem-solving skills to address open-ended technical challenges and design effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills are required to foster cohesive and productive virtual teams.
Familiarity with modern DevSecOps practices and the ability to apply them to a platform is important.
The ability to quickly learn new technologies is essential, and prior experience in enterprise software modernization projects is a bonus.
