Description:

  • Socure is on a mission to verify 100% of good identities in real time and eliminate identity fraud from the internet.
  • The company uses predictive analytics and advanced machine learning trained on billions of signals to power RiskOS™, creating the most accurate identity verification and fraud prevention platform.
  • The Principal Engineer will lead the design and development of the new Identity Graph project, which is a greenfield initiative forming the foundation of all products.
  • This role involves leading a team of data and backend engineers to advance Socure’s identity infrastructure for the next generation of identity fraud products.
  • The work will directly impact the scalability, reliability, and performance of solutions critical to Socure’s success, with high visibility including collaboration with the CEO, CTO, and CPO.
  • Responsibilities include leading architectural design, providing mentorship, establishing best practices, designing solutions with modern data technologies, implementing testing frameworks, owning ETL pipeline development, overseeing API development, ensuring compliance with legal and security requirements, communicating technical concepts, staying current with technology trends, and contributing to open-source projects.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 10-15+ years of professional experience in data engineering, including at least 4 years in a lead role.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing technical teams is required.
  • Expertise in building large-scale data solutions in modern cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is essential.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python, SQL, and one or more of Java, Scala, or Go is necessary.
  • Strong experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming frameworks like Apache Spark, Kafka, or Flink is required.
  • Hands-on experience with graph databases and algorithms such as Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or OrientDB is needed.
  • A strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and data structures is essential.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as microservices architecture, is required.
  • Candidates should be well-versed in developing highly available, scalable low latency online systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is necessary.
