Speridian Technologies is seeking a Principal Engineer, Data Platforms for the Department of Healthcare Services, Behavioral Health in California.
This role is part of a long-term, fully budgeted technical modernization project involving various cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
The position is remote, but candidates must attend meetings in the Sacramento area several times a year.
Candidates are expected to work business hours, Monday to Friday, in the Pacific Time Zone.
The Principal Engineer will play a strategic and hands-on leadership role in shaping the organization's architecture vision, focusing on scalable data platforms and enterprise-wide technology alignment.
Responsibilities include defining the enterprise architecture vision, designing scalable data platforms, providing technical mentorship, establishing integration architectures, and evaluating emerging technologies.
Requirements:
Proven experience in enterprise and data architecture, particularly with distributed systems and cloud-native design is required.
Deep expertise in technologies such as Kafka, Spark/Flink, Iceberg/Delta, and columnar data warehouses is necessary.
A strong understanding of microservices, SOA, event-driven architecture, and DevOps practices is essential.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills are required, with the ability to influence at both technical and executive levels.
Candidates should possess intrinsic motivation, which is a key factor for success in this role.
Familiarity with architecture modeling tools, collaboration platforms, and proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is necessary.
