Description:

  • We are hiring for an experienced Principal Firmware Engineer to join our Embedded Linux Team.
  • The Principal Firmware Engineer will lead and guide firmware projects, drive innovation, and provide technical expertise and thought leadership on behalf of Dojo Five.
  • This role involves working on both customer and internal projects.
  • It is a full-time, salaried, and exempt position with a hybrid schedule for local candidates in MN or remote for non-local candidates.
  • The engineer is expected to be available and communicative during the company’s core work hours, which are between 9:00am - 3:00pm CST.
  • Responsibilities include setting strategic direction for advancements, developing and testing firmware, designing build systems, providing project guidance, mentoring, leading recruitment activities, and managing work time independently.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least 15 years of relevant professional experience in Embedded Linux.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and Rust is required.
  • Experience with operating systems including Custom Yocto built systems, WindRiver Linux, Ubuntu Core, and Buildroot is necessary.
  • Familiarity with associated technologies and skills such as bitbake, devtool, SDKs, QEMU, u-boot, kernel config, and driver development is essential.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, secure boot, provisioning, and OTA schemes is required.
  • Experience with development tools including IDEs, Docker, git, pytest, and CMake is necessary.
  • Candidates should possess excellent people skills, a passion for best practices, and the ability to work independently as well as lead teams.
