We are hiring for an experienced Principal Firmware Engineer to join our Embedded Linux Team.
The Principal Firmware Engineer will lead and guide firmware projects, drive innovation, and provide technical expertise and thought leadership on behalf of Dojo Five.
This role involves working on both customer and internal projects.
It is a full-time, salaried, and exempt position with a hybrid schedule for local candidates in MN or remote for non-local candidates.
The engineer is expected to be available and communicative during the company’s core work hours, which are between 9:00am - 3:00pm CST.
Responsibilities include setting strategic direction for advancements, developing and testing firmware, designing build systems, providing project guidance, mentoring, leading recruitment activities, and managing work time independently.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 15 years of relevant professional experience in Embedded Linux.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and Rust is required.
Experience with operating systems including Custom Yocto built systems, WindRiver Linux, Ubuntu Core, and Buildroot is necessary.
Familiarity with associated technologies and skills such as bitbake, devtool, SDKs, QEMU, u-boot, kernel config, and driver development is essential.
Knowledge of cybersecurity, secure boot, provisioning, and OTA schemes is required.
Experience with development tools including IDEs, Docker, git, pytest, and CMake is necessary.
Candidates should possess excellent people skills, a passion for best practices, and the ability to work independently as well as lead teams.
