Cribl is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the value of observability data.
The role is remote and part of the engineering organization, focusing on envisioning, creating, deploying, testing, and shipping Cribl products.
The team consists of software engineers and SREs dedicated to delivering high-quality software.
Responsibilities include charting the future of Cribl’s observability and reliability systems, directing the evolution of reliability metrics, and engaging with Product and Engineering teams to improve service delivery.
The engineer will measure and monitor production systems for availability, latency, and overall health, uncover risks, and advocate for engineering-wide improvements.
The role involves identifying and reducing toil through innovation and automation, as well as participating in on-call duties.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive experience with enterprise-scale continuous delivery environments.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role is required.
Proficiency in development with JavaScript/Node.js/TypeScript in a Linux/Mac environment is necessary.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform is preferred.
Candidates should have experience with sustainable incident response in a blameless environment.
Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and container orchestration technologies is essential.
Familiarity with APM and observability tools such as New Relic, Splunk, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana/Kibana, and Sentry is required.
A deep understanding of SRE practices, including SLOs, Error Budgets, PRRs, and Problem Management is necessary.
Candidates should be comfortable with a high level of autonomy and working within a distributed team.
Knowledge of cloud and application security, as well as cloud design patterns for scale and resiliency, is important.
A passion for software quality and craft is essential.

The salary range for this role is between $240,000 and $400,000, depending on geographic location and individual qualifications.
