The Principal Software Engineer will drive architectural and product vision, planning, and delivery as part of a small team.
The role requires 10+ years of experience across the entire software development lifecycle.
The engineer will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including engineering, machine learning, applied sciences, and product team members.

Key responsibilities include defining and driving the long-term vision for core software architecture, leading product and platform development, providing engineering leadership, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring software engineers.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of professional experience developing software using modern programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
Proven ability to work across the full stack from cloud infrastructure design to user experience and delivery is required.
Demonstrated experience leading a functional area within a team or organization is necessary.
Proficiency in agile development with the ability to deliver value iteratively while balancing technical depth and business impact is essential.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance priorities with minimal oversight is required.
Industry experience in life sciences, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related field is preferred.
Candidates must be proficient in architecting end-to-end solutions using a cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Proficiency in batch and streaming data processing technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Flink, Trino, Airflow, Elasticsearch, and SQL is necessary.
The ability to communicate and collaborate with product, machine learning, applied science, and other engineers is essential.
A passion for contributing to an early-stage startup and solving novel scientific challenges is required.
