  • The Professional Services Engineer position is a blend of DevOps Engineer, Client-facing Consultant, Puppet trainer, and Pre-Sales Engineer.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have the ability to manage time and projects effectively.
  • A solid experience working with Puppet Enterprise or Puppet Open Source (Puppet 4 or more recent) is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software DevOps, Systems Administration, Automation, or Network Infrastructure is necessary.
  • The ability to travel up to 10% domestically is required.
  • A solid background in programming with Unix and/or Linux SysAdmin or DevOps, including automation, is essential.
  • Strong customer relations and presentation skills are necessary; candidates must be able to speak well in front of an audience and with customers.
  • Candidates should have excitement about working with the Puppet Enterprise and Open-Source community.
  • A passion for problem-solving is required.
  • Excellent time and project management skills are necessary.
  • A technical degree (CS/IT/Eng/ITSec) or equivalent experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with clients and internal resources in face-to-face, telephone, and virtual meetings is necessary, along with the ability to work as a member of a group or team.
  • Logic and reasoning skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems are required.
  • Applicants with Puppet Certification are a plus.
  • Preferred but not required skills include programming skills (Ruby, Python, Go, etc.), Windows systems administration experience (including Microsoft PowerShell), large scale infrastructure experience, knowledge of data center management, systems management, monitoring, networking, and security, and professional services experience in an open-source/enterprise software company.
