  • Responsibilities include validating data accuracy, completeness, and transformation logic across multiple systems and environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Developers, Product Managers, and QAs to ensure test coverage and alignment with business goals.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for in-depth data validation and reconciliation.
  • Own the defect lifecycle by logging, triaging, tracking, and reporting issues using Azure/Jira and Confluence.
  • Mentor junior QA team members and provide technical guidance on BI testing best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of QA frameworks, standards, and automation strategies for data testing.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and influence sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives from a QA perspective.
  • Support SIT and production validation to ensure data quality in live environments.
  • Recommend improvements to QA processes, tools, and automation strategies for BI testing.
  • This position allows for 100% remote work from anywhere in Australia, provided you have full working rights.

Requirements:

  • Proven intermediate level and higher experience in QA, with several years focused on BI, data warehouse, or analytics testing.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience validating large, complex datasets are required.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance principles is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar is essential.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Azure Dev Ops, JIRA, and Confluence is required.
  • Knowledgeable in API testing, for example, using Postman.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are a must.
  • A strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and a passion for data quality is preferred.
  • Comfortable working independently and leading initiatives in a remote team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams are essential.
