The company is seeking a versatile R&D Engineer to join the Backporting Research Team in Endless Lifecycle Support, focusing on AI-powered patch backporting.
Endless Lifecycle Support allows organizations to securely use Linux distributions and software languages that have reached the end of life, providing vulnerability patches for unsupported versions of various systems.
The role combines creative problem-solving with strong software engineering skills, involving rapid prototyping and bringing concepts into production-ready systems.
Key responsibilities include researching and innovating improvements to the AI-powered patch backporter, implementing research findings, improving research velocity through automation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience as a developer or engineering lead.
Strong proficiency in Python is essential.
Hands-on experience integrating LLMs via APIs like OpenAI or Anthropic is required.
Familiarity with RAG, CAG, and agent-based approaches is necessary.
Basic infrastructure skills, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and testing automation, are required.
Proven ability to start projects from scratch, including DevOps, setup, and architecture, is essential.
Experience collaborating across teams is necessary.
A PhD in AI/ML or a related discipline, published research or experimentation experience, data analysis skills, basic knowledge of C language, and familiarity with AI engineering tools are considered nice to have.
