Energy Recovery, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Data Analytics Engineer – Refrigeration and Energy Systems, located remotely in India.
This role involves analyzing energy consumption of refrigeration systems by developing code and algorithms for data collection, clean up, organization, visualizations, thermodynamic calculations, and building a holistic data strategy.
The candidate will interact with business units and third-party contractors to support data-related requests.
Responsibilities include creating and scaling a unified data strategy for field installations, developing and maintaining data pipelines, and interfacing with various protocols and cloud platforms.
The role requires standardizing fragmented datasets into a centralized cloud repository and building dashboards using tools like Google Data Studio, Grafana, or Power BI.
The candidate will write and maintain Python or SQL scripts for data transformation, anomaly detection, and automated reporting.
Collaboration with refrigeration and controls engineers is essential to support field deployments and thermodynamic analysis.
The position also involves overseeing the health and integrity of field data streams and dashboards, collaborating with external vendors for pilot implementations, and conducting energy-saving calculations.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Thermal, Chemical, Energy Systems, or Computer Science is required.
The candidate must have an analytical mindset and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
A strong technical background in data engineering, systems integration, or industrial IoT is necessary.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with cloud-native data architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) is required.
The ability to visualize complex datasets for both business and technical users is essential.
A hands-on mindset with troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network layers is important.
Experience with edge computing platforms, gateways, or PLC integration is a plus.
Prior experience in data analytics of energy systems or refrigeration systems is highly desirable.
Familiarity with thermodynamic principles and understanding of refrigeration or HVAC systems is advantageous.
The candidate should have experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and vendors.
Self-driven and adaptable to fast-changing needs in field operations is necessary.
The ability to be an individual contributor while being a team player and effective communicator is required.
Fluency in English is mandatory, and limited travel may be needed.
