The Research Engineer will work within the Research Engineering team, which includes both Platform and Embedded teams.
The role involves building and optimizing large-scale learning systems that power open-weight models.
Responsibilities include enhancing shared training frameworks, data pipelines, and cluster tooling, or integrating fresh ideas into scalable code within research squads.
The position is available in Paris, London (hybrid), or remote within the EU/UK with one hub day per month.
Key tasks include accelerating researchers by managing large-scale ML pipelines, integrating research with production, conducting experiments on deep-learning techniques, designing and implementing ML algorithms, and delivering prototypes for production-grade components.
Requirements:
A Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or an equivalent proven track record is required.
Candidates must have at least 4 years of experience working on large-scale ML codebases.
Proficiency in PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow is necessary, along with comfort in distributed training environments such as DeepSpeed, FSDP, SLURM, or K8s.
Experience in deep learning, NLP, or LLMs is essential, with additional skills in CUDA or data-pipeline being a bonus.
Strong software design instincts, including testing, code review, and CI/CD practices, are required.
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, low-ego, and collaborative.
