Description:

  • Zscaler is seeking a Resident Engineer to assist clients in implementing, setting up, and managing their Zscaler solution during project duration.
  • The Resident Engineer will report to the Professional Services Manager and collaborate with the larger Zscaler Professional Services team to ensure success for team members, Zscaler, and customers.
  • Responsibilities include integrating with the customer's cybersecurity/network security teams to provide configuration guidance, recommendations, and best practices for Zscaler solutions.
  • The role involves assisting customers with testing and troubleshooting, escalating issues to Zscaler Support, Engineering, and Cloud Operations as necessary.
  • The Resident Engineer will provide regular status reports for critical incidents, projects, and proactive services to both the customer and Zscaler teams.
  • The position requires responding to unplanned events, including after-hours for Severity 1 issues, and may involve travel to customer locations to assist with short-term goals.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 6+ years of prior work experience as a Resident Engineer, Professional Services Consultant, or Support Engineer.
  • Familiarity with IPSEC, GRE, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS protocols, Proxy, SSL, SSL Inspection, and authentication systems (SAML, LDAP, SCIM) is required.
  • Experience with systems installation, configuration, and administration of routers/switches, macOS, UNIX/Linux, and Windows-based systems is necessary, along with knowledge of network troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, Traceroute, and MTR.
  • Applicants must meet the requirements of DoD 8570 IATII or 8140 Cyber Def Infra Support Specialist - Intermediate.
  • An active US SECRET clearance or higher is mandatory.
