Zscaler is seeking a Resident Engineer to assist clients in implementing, setting up, and managing their Zscaler solution during project duration.
The Resident Engineer will report to the Professional Services Manager and collaborate with the larger Zscaler Professional Services team to ensure success for team members, Zscaler, and customers.
Responsibilities include integrating with the customer's cybersecurity/network security teams to provide configuration guidance, recommendations, and best practices for Zscaler solutions.
The role involves assisting customers with testing and troubleshooting, escalating issues to Zscaler Support, Engineering, and Cloud Operations as necessary.
The Resident Engineer will provide regular status reports for critical incidents, projects, and proactive services to both the customer and Zscaler teams.
The position requires responding to unplanned events, including after-hours for Severity 1 issues, and may involve travel to customer locations to assist with short-term goals.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of prior work experience as a Resident Engineer, Professional Services Consultant, or Support Engineer.
Familiarity with IPSEC, GRE, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS protocols, Proxy, SSL, SSL Inspection, and authentication systems (SAML, LDAP, SCIM) is required.
Experience with systems installation, configuration, and administration of routers/switches, macOS, UNIX/Linux, and Windows-based systems is necessary, along with knowledge of network troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, Traceroute, and MTR.
Applicants must meet the requirements of DoD 8570 IATII or 8140 Cyber Def Infra Support Specialist - Intermediate.
An active US SECRET clearance or higher is mandatory.
