Description:

  • To.Scale is seeking a SQL Server Support Engineer for a leading automotive company based in Brussels to support an existing SQL database used in After Sales operations.
  • This role is not a classic back-office DBA position; it requires sharp SQL skills, the ability to handle incidents calmly, and the capability to translate business needs into technical improvements.
  • The engineer will work in a live environment, collaborating with internal business users and technical teams to investigate issues, optimize performance, and implement small-scale developments.
  • Responsibilities include solving user incidents, implementing changes based on business requirements, optimizing database performance, collaborating with architecture and support teams, and contributing to database migration and versioning efforts.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 3–5 years of experience in IT roles involving SQL Server support and development.
  • A deep understanding of SQL Server, including views, procedures, functions, and scheduled jobs, is required.
  • Strong experience with SSIS, including packages, variables, and data movement, is essential.
  • Familiarity with SSAS and DAX is needed to troubleshoot and contribute to BI flows.
  • A solid grasp of SQL Server system administration concepts is necessary.
  • Experience with database migrations, specifically SQL and SSAS, is required.
  • Candidates should be confident using GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
  • The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential.
  • Strong visual and documentation skills for issue reporting and collaboration are required.

Benefits:

  • The position is freelance with an initial duration until March 31st, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
  • The daily rate is based on 220 working days per year, converted into a fixed monthly fee that includes paid time off, meaning compensation covers vacation days and local bank holidays.
  • The role allows for offshore support, providing flexibility in work arrangements.
