Open Philanthropy is seeking a Salesforce Solutions Architect and Senior Administrator to enhance their grantmaking system.
The role involves designing and building complex Salesforce solutions, demonstrating expert understanding of platform capabilities and limitations.
Responsibilities include making informed decisions on solution trade-offs, developing custom solutions using Apex, SOQL, and potentially Lightning Web Components and Visualforce.
The candidate will lead requirements-gathering sessions, collaborate with stakeholders, mentor junior team members, and manage Salesforce features and third-party tools.
The position also includes overseeing user support and contributing to continuous improvement of Salesforce architecture and development processes.
The candidate will lead Salesforce-adjacent projects, define project scope, manage engineering capacity, and implement agile methodologies.
The role requires balancing multiple projects and initiatives while advocating for DevOps best practices within the Salesforce team.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in Salesforce administration and development is required, with a strong background in solution architecture and technical project management.
Candidates should have expert-level knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities and limitations.
Proficiency in Apex and SOQL is necessary, with experience in Lightning Web Components and Visualforce considered a plus.
A strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and design patterns is essential.
Experience implementing and leading DevOps in a Salesforce context is required.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and their application in Salesforce projects is necessary.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are essential.
A track record of successful project delivery in complex Salesforce environments is required.
Candidates should have the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
Salesforce certifications (e.g., System Architect, Application Architect, or developer certifications) are a plus.
Philanthropic and/or nonprofit experience is also a plus.

The compensation for this role is $181,735.12, which includes a base salary of $158,735.12 and an unconditional 401(k) grant of $23,000.00 for U.S. hires.
The position allows for remote work, with flexibility to overlap with Eastern Time for at least 5-6 hours of the workday.
