Protera Technologies is seeking an SAP on Cloud - Lead Basis Architect to help global clients transform their SAP operations with cloud-based solutions.
The role involves leading technical architecture, delivery, and governance across large-scale transformation programs while mentoring teams and driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities include designing end-to-end SAP technical architectures across S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
The architect will lead S/4HANA transformations (brownfield/greenfield/SDT), migrations, upgrades, and cutovers.
The position requires defining and implementing HA/DR patterns with tested RTO/RPO.
Establishing automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and CI/CD for SAP infrastructure is essential.
The architect will oversee platform operations readiness, security, and compliance (SOC2/ISO).
The role includes governing multiparty delivery with SAP, hyperscalers, and MSPs, and translating business requirements into technical solutions while communicating with CxO-level stakeholders.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10–15+ years of SAP Basis/HANA experience with proven cloud architecture expertise (AWS/Azure; RISE with SAP/SAP Cloud ERP Private).
Experience leading multiple end-to-end S/4HANA transformation programs, including transitions to S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, is required.
Deep expertise in SAP on Oracle, HANA, SQL, or DB2; SUM/DMO, SPAM/SAINT, CTS+/ChaRM is necessary.
Hands-on leadership in large-scale migrations and cutovers is essential.
Strong networking, identity/SSO, and compliance knowledge is required.
An automation mindset with IaC and CI/CD for SAP infrastructure is expected.
Demonstrated “player-coach” leadership and mentoring skills are important.
Excellent communication and executive storytelling skills are required.
A Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or a related field is necessary; cloud and SAP certifications are preferred.
