Remote Scala Developer

Description:

• Playtech is looking for an experienced Scala Developer to join their Gpas unit.
• The role involves participating in software design, development, refactoring, support, and code reviews to maintain high development standards.
• The developer will collaborate with platform teams to deliver great results and work autonomously on tasks with little or no supervision.
• Responsibilities include optimizing the platform to achieve maximum throughput and scalability and being proactive to exceed expectations.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have strong experience developing server-side in Scala for at least 4 years.
• A solid understanding of JVM, data structures, and algorithms is required.
• Excellent knowledge of parallel and concurrent programming is essential.
• Experience with Pekko Http, Actor, Cluster, Persistence, and Streams is necessary.
• Proven experience in developing high-scale distributed systems with complex interfaces and integrations is required.
• Candidates should exhibit an engineering mindset: self-motivated, initiative, quick learner, team player, and critical thinker.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills are a must.
• A desire to document and share knowledge with colleagues is important.
• Good communication skills in English are required.
• Extra points will be given for experience with Couchbase, AWS S3 and DynamoDB, Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux.
