OpenAI is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Cloud Security and Identity team.
The Security team is dedicated to protecting OpenAI’s technology, people, and products, with a focus on building secure systems and implementing effective security measures.
The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and develop secure software solutions and infrastructure.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable systems and controls to secure infrastructure, collaborating with engineering and security teams, and delivering key projects that enhance security operations.
The position requires a proactive and resilient team player who can work cross-functionally and help build a cohesive security team.
This role is open to remote employees, with relocation assistance available to OpenAI offices in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a deep understanding of security principles, best practices, and common vulnerabilities.
A proactive mindset is essential, with the ability to identify and address security gaps or inefficiencies through automation and tooling.
A track record of delivering scalable solutions and driving impactful changes across infrastructure in real-world projects is required.
Expertise in the security of cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure is necessary, particularly in securing multi-cloud networks and infrastructure.
Familiarity with container security, orchestration security, and authentication/authorization is expected.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to think critically and objectively assess security risks.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
