Remote Security Engineer

• The company is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Platform team to enhance security measures and protect against cybersecurity threats.
• This role is hands-on and technical, focusing on building systems that ensure the platform is safe, resilient, and trusted by customers.
• Responsibilities include working on backend components written in Python/FastAPI, hosted on an AWS serverless architecture, and maintaining cloud-native services.
• The Security Engineer will actively participate in team rituals such as daily syncs, planning sessions, demos, and technical discussions.

Requirements:

• The position is hybrid, allowing work from the Berlin HQ, London office, or the Iasi Hub in Romania, but relocation services will not be provided.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication in a remote environment.
• Candidates must have strong engineering fundamentals with a passion for simplicity and precision.
• Required experience includes 5+ years in security engineering roles, preferably in cloud-native environments.
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP security tools and best practices is necessary.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and integrating security into CI/CD processes is required.
• A deep understanding of security controls, risk management, and compliance is essential.
• Candidates should have backend engineering or SRE experience, particularly with Python, Bash, and Terraform.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CKS, or AWS Security are ideal but not required.
