This role involves leading the evaluation of LLM usage for safety, correctness, hallucination, contextual relevance, and performance to ensure the appropriate model is utilized.
The developer will design robust prompts and workflows to facilitate voice and text-based interactions across various customer environments.
The position includes guiding and mentoring other engineers to enhance the team's capability in building agentic systems through design reviews, pairing, and shared tooling.
The developer will collaborate with product and customer experience teams to understand customer problems and drive intelligent solutions.
Rapid prototyping will be essential to learn what works and to scale successful solutions.
Requirements:
Candidates must have hands-on experience in building and shipping AI-powered products.
Familiarity with LLM evaluation techniques, including tool correctness, grounding, hallucination detection, prompt tuning, and safety, is required.
An understanding of RAG, multi-modal inputs, prompt engineering, and customer-specific customization is necessary.
Practical knowledge of LLM observability, model selection, and cost-performance tradeoffs is expected.
Experience in startup or high-speed product environments, where ownership and iteration are crucial, is essential.
Proven experience in designing and building robust, scalable software systems is required.
Candidates should have experience using AI developer tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Surfboard) in their daily workflow and a willingness to share these practices with the team.
A natural coaching and mentoring ability is important, as the candidate should enhance the team's performance by sharing insights and feedback.
Voice interface or voice UX experience is considered a strong plus.
Familiarity with modern development stacks (e.g., AWS, Python, Node.js, React) and CI/CD pipelines is necessary.
