Remote Senior AI Engineer - Expert Research

Description:

• AlphaSense is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join the Expert Research mission, focusing on building product features powered by machine learning.
• The role involves working with proprietary datasets, particularly unstructured text from expert interviews between financial analysts and domain experts.
• The team has already launched LLM-powered transcript summaries, table of contents, and an expert recommender, with future projects including automating expert biographies and AI moderated interviews.
• The position is critical to the company's future, and the engineer will report to the Director of Engineering, helping to shape the culture and practices of machine learning within the organization.
• The engineer will collaborate with product managers and engineers to prototype, build, and release features that leverage machine learning advances.
• Responsibilities include writing production Python code, deploying microservices, staying updated on machine learning advancements, and mentoring junior ML engineers.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience in data-intensive problems is required; a Master's or PhD is preferred but not mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a data-intensive or machine learning role, with at least 2 years in an industry setting.
• Demonstrated experience in training and deploying machine learning models, particularly in NLP applications.
• Deep experience in the Python data and machine learning ecosystem, including proficiency with PyTorch.
• Familiarity with Docker, Python API frameworks like FastAPI, and software engineering best practices is essential.
• A practical, iterative, product-focused mindset is preferred over a slower, methodical research-oriented approach.
• Previous experience deploying microservices on Kubernetes is a plus.

• The compensation range for this position is between $178,000 and $267,000 USD, with final offer amounts determined by candidate experience and expertise.
