Skylight is seeking a Senior Android Software Engineer to join their small but impactful engineering team.
The role involves developing software for consumer products like Skylight Frame and Skylight Calendar, which are used by millions globally.
The candidate will work closely with a Firmware engineer to write Kotlin in APKs for custom hardware solutions.
Responsibilities include owning and supporting a utility app for health checks and version installations, improving the Android team's architectural direction, and addressing tech debt.
The engineer will implement best practices in Android build and deployment processes and collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features.
The position requires writing high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code in Kotlin, maintaining a comprehensive test suite, optimizing application performance, and ensuring scalable architecture.
Participation in code reviews and contributing to performance monitoring processes is also expected.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive experience (6+ years) in developing native Android applications.
Expertise in the Kotlin programming language and Android SDK is required.
A strong understanding of Android application architecture and design patterns is essential.
