The Senior Back End Software Engineer will build tools and automation to help users manage employment compliance.
Responsibilities include integrating APIs, building data pipelines, and creating API endpoints to support applications and partners.
The engineer will design, implement, and iterate new features from scratch, using user feedback to inform future development.
The role involves laying the groundwork for future engineering and product development, setting up initial infrastructure, and establishing continuous integration workflows.
The engineer will work closely with the founder and founding team to build prototypes and MVPs.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer.
Strong collaboration skills and excellent written and verbal communication are essential.
A combination of technical ability and a deep understanding of what makes a great product is required.
The ability to solve novel problems and think critically about the best solutions is necessary.
Experience working at a startup or leading a new project from scratch is preferred.
Expertise in Python, Postgres, SQLAlchemy, FastApi, and mypy is required.
Candidates should be eager to learn new things and go beyond engineering tasks.
A sense of urgency and focus, along with an exacting standard of quality, is important.
The ability to build systems and processes from the ground up is desired.
