  • The company is seeking a skilled and self-directed Senior Backend & Data Engineer to contribute to the development of a new, large-scale mobile gacha game.
  • This role involves building and scaling the game's backend services and core data infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Responsibilities include implementing, maintaining, and scaling the core backend infrastructure using PlayFab and Azure, developing server-side game logic, and managing databases (MongoDB) and search clusters (OpenSearch).
  • The engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch processing, automate data extraction, transformation, and loading into the data lake, and manage data warehousing solutions.
  • The role also requires integrating data visualization tools to provide actionable insights and contributing to CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments.
  • Best practices for data quality, security, and compliance with privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA must be upheld.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have hands-on professional experience with C# and a game backend-as-a-service platform, preferably PlayFab and Azure Functions.
  • A solid understanding of data engineering fundamentals, including ETL processes, data modeling, and data lake architecture, is required.
  • Practical experience in building data pipelines and working with distributed processing frameworks such as Spark, Databricks, or Beam is essential.
  • Familiarity with various database technologies, including NoSQL (like MongoDB) and data warehousing solutions (like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake), is necessary.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards, specifically GDPR and CCPA, is required.
  • The candidate should be self-directed and able to work independently in a remote setting.
