The Senior Backend Engineer will play a key role in the migration to a modern, serverless AWS multi-account architecture, focusing on infrastructure efficiency and best practices.
The engineer will develop backend services using TypeScript and Node.js, leveraging infrastructure as code via AWS SAM.
The role involves working with core AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and Step Functions.
The engineer will use GitHub Actions to manage CI/CD pipelines and streamline deployments across multiple environments.
The position allows for 100% remote work if the candidate is currently living in LATAM, or they can join the office in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Requirements:
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Strong expertise in backend development, primarily using TypeScript or Node.js is necessary.
Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS and infrastructure as code using AWS SAM is essential.
A solid understanding of serverless architectures and key AWS services (Lambda, S3, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and others) is required.
Experience with unit testing using Jest or similar frameworks is needed.
Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD and automation workflows is important.
An AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills are required.

Excellent written and verbal English is required for clear and effective communication with the team.
