Deezer is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the User Growth team, which consists of talented cross-disciplinary engineers.
The main objective of the team is to optimize incoming traffic to attract new valuable users to Deezerβs service.
The ideal candidate will be a Backend Developer with a passion for creating outstanding user experiences and technical expertise.
Responsibilities include mentoring team members, driving architectural improvements, leading technical discussions, and defining cross-stack solutions to solve customer problems.
The role also involves working closely with Marketing teams to understand their needs and tools.
The candidate will foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment and share knowledge across teams.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in building high-traffic applications using PHP is required.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, SOLID design principles, and backend architecture is essential.
Knowledge of MySQL and experience in optimizing queries and database structures is necessary.
Experience working on large and complex codebases at scale is required.
Strong problem-solving and performance optimization skills are essential.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are required.
Experience managing deployments and monitoring metrics using Git, Kubernetes (K8s), and Jenkins is necessary.
Conducting code reviews to ensure performance, security, and maintainability is part of the role.
A mindset focused on code performance and quality is essential.
Knowledge of GO, GraphQL, TypeScript, or Event Sourcing architecture is a significant plus.
