Remote Senior Backend Engineer, Data Platform

Description:

• Postscript is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Data Platform team.
• The role involves building and scaling foundational services, APIs, and data pipelines that support the Postscript product.
• Candidates will need strong backend engineering skills and a deep understanding of data-intensive systems, performance, and reliability.
• Responsibilities include designing, developing, maintaining, and scaling the Data Platform team’s services and APIs, building batch and streaming data pipelines, acting as tech lead for individual projects, maintaining third-party integrations, and contributing to team planning and process improvement.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 6+ years of experience writing and shipping production software in GoLang.
• Hands-on experience with Python in production or non-production settings is required.
• Experience in building and designing high-scale systems on AWS with a variety of database technologies (RDBMS, OLAP, NoSQL, etc.) is necessary.
• A working knowledge of event-driven distributed systems, Kafka, and distributed data processing technologies (Flink/Spark/etc.) is essential.
• A proven track record of success in remote startups, particularly in mid to late-stage companies, is preferred.
• Candidates should have a strong desire to add new technologies to their toolkit and thrive in ambiguity while solving complex problems.
• Nice to have skills include experience with Terraform or IAC tools, building and deploying applications on Kubernetes, and experience in building streaming and/or batch data pipelines and ETL.
