Description:

  • As a Senior Backend Engineer at Deezer, you will be responsible for building new products from scratch.
  • Your mission will involve developing backends and APIs for new mobile applications that are market-differentiating and align with Deezer's strategic direction.
  • You will write and maintain high-quality, tested, and scalable code, and participate in code reviews.
  • Collaboration with Product Managers and Product Designers will be essential to understand product requirements and needs.
  • You will anticipate future application scaling needs and work with Mobile and Backend developers on architectural adaptations.
  • Continuous improvement will be part of your role, helping the team grow with innovative solutions and tools.
  • Sharing knowledge with teammates and other Deezer Engineering teams will be encouraged.
  • You will work with the team’s QA Engineer to ensure a smooth review and testing flow.
  • Participation in Scrum events and processes such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and demos will be required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in building and maintaining backend applications in production is required.
  • Strong engineering skills in CI/CD, code versioning, testing, and code reviews are essential.
  • A value-driven, iterative approach and openness to continuous enrichment are necessary.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving strategies are important.
  • Team-oriented communication that is friendly and constructive is expected.
  • You should be a problem-solver who is rigorous and enthusiastic.
  • Good spoken and written English skills are required.
